Dr. Armstrong focuses on the life sciences as a Managing Director with more than 35 years of experience in life sciences research, operations, business development, and investment banking. Prior to joining WestPark Capital, Dr. Armstrong presided over JAV, LLC, a boutique biotechnology management consulting firm. He was previously a Managing Director co-leading the biotech practice at Boston-based Outcome Capital as well as Global Head of Discovery at Switzerland-based Galderma, the world’s largest dermatology company. As Head of Business Development at the same firm, Dr. Armstrong led bids and supported transactions of >$22 billion in total deal value, including providing the scientific support for the sale of Galderma from Nestle to EQT for > $10 billion. He earned his Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and continued his education with two post-doctoral fellowships – one at Novartis in Basel, Switzerland and one at the US NIH in Bethesda, MD. He is a member of Mensa and a FINRA Registered Securities Representative holding Series 79 and 63 registrations.
